I really enjoyed my stay at the Marlton, which was for 5 days. It is a charming, old-world feeling hotel. First, as has already been mentioned, the rooms are small. But as a solo woman traveler, the size was just fine for me. If you're looking for expansive rooms to sprawl, then go elsewhere. I initially booked the Petite Queen but learned (as also mentioned by others) that the Petite Queen rooms face a building that is undergoing construction. And construction starts early and lasts until the evening in the day. And it is really loud. Not the hotel's fault. Even though I planned on sight-seeing, I also wanted to come back to the room to rest and the noise made it impossible. However, as luck would have it, there was another room available, and the hotel staff were so very accommodating and put me in the new room, which was one with a full bed. And again, as a solo traveler, that was just fine. As a matter of fact, I loved the room even more. It felt a little bigger, the bathroom was bigger and had a bathtub. There was also a very nice wardrobe to hang my clothes in, as well as a stocked mini-bar (I took that stuff out and put my own drinks and snacks in). There was also a hallway to the bathroom, giving the room a feeling of being larger. The room was exceptionally clean, the bathroom lovely with a wonderful shower head and very nice toiletries. I found the bed quite comfortable. The pillows are squishy, but I had 4 to choose from and just piled them on and slept just fine. My room faced the street, but there was very little street noise, at least nothing that kept me awake. The continental breakfast included with the room price was just fine. I typically had the oatmeal and a glass of juice, which is really all I needed to kickstart my day. The hotel really is ideally located and easy to get to places either on foot or via the subway, which is a couple blocks away.

I liked the chilled out vibe, the location is excellent and the staff sweet and courteous. The place exudes a calm that I loved coming home too, it felt natural and comfortable most times of the day. I worked in the lobby a lot and that was wonderful as well. Its a stone's throw away from Washington Sq Park which was a lovely addition to the day every time I stepped out. Its far from the madness of the downtown yet surrounded by fun things to do. The room was small but clean and the fixtures were all early 19th century vibe - which felt quite cool!

The Marlton is a classic New York hotel in an excellent location. The staff were very friendly, the bed was super comfortable, and the breakfast was quite nice. The rooms were very very quiet and we slept perfectly each night. I’ve stayed in other hotels and apartments in NYC and this certainly was not the case there. Also the temperature control in the room was top notch. One other noteworthy experience was the breakfast every morning. We always easily got a table right away and the servers were attentive.

Excellent location in a relatively quiet street next to a lively area. Lots of great restaurants and bars in easy walking distance and the subway is a short walk away. The Marlton has real character, especially in its lobby, bar/restaurant area. Room was comfortable but, as it's a historic location, a little tight on space. Very friendly and helpful team. Room was cleaned and serviced with care. Good breakfast in seating area with plenty of space - never had to wait for a table.

Super location - perfect for exploring New York and easy to get to from JFK (you can get a train direct from the airport to a subway station that's just a short walk from hotel). The hotel is full of character: the rooms are pleasant and clean (if small) and the bar and lobby are full of charm. There's good air con throughout — it kept me cool even in 34 degree heat. A reasonably good breakfast is included in the room price (or at least was when I booked).
